Approach

Mozaic approaches creative work as a form of attention. A project may begin with an artwork, a remembered phrase, a path through the village, a local skill, a geological formation, or a question that refuses to disappear. The aim is not to arrive with a predetermined answer, but to stay with what is present long enough for a more interesting question to emerge.

This approach values shared visibility and independent stewardship. Collaborators retain authorship and meaningful choice. Places are allowed to do what they do best. Local knowledge is treated with consent, credit, and care. Activities begin modestly, with clear responsibilities and the freedom to revise, pause, or conclude. The measure of success is not scale for its own sake, but substance, reciprocity, sustainability, and quality of life.
